HAPPY MAY DAY (LABOUR DAY)
Silvia Frederici, Wages Against Housework
when working with the moon be sure to demystify
lest illusions become tyrants.

Poetry should make certain common
mysteries more clear
not less.

Porn

By Dorothea Lasky

All types of porn are horrific
I just watched a woman fuck a hired hand
In her marble kitchen while her friends looked on
The title of the movie was Divorce Party
And throughout his big cock, her skinny thighs
Her friends shouted, Nah girl, now you're free

But no, she's not, she's in a movie
and now I am crying
Because the man looks like an ex-boyfriend
or my half-brother
My boss
A monster
Someone who left me in the dark
Someone who darkened me
A million times over

I've only fucked 7 guys in my life
But I've watched more porn than you ever will
Hours and hours
A woman and a dog
Three women
A hairy fruit
Four bending over backwards
Vomit sex
The underplay
Of tendril
In motion

I watch porn
Cause I'll never be in love
Except with you dear reader
Who thinks I surrender
But who's to say this poem isn't porn
Calculated and hurtful
All my friends say I'm free
And yes, maybe I am
But are you free
No, you'll never be
I've got you in my grasp
I've got you right here in my room
Once Again

I know its awful, the white background, some step was wonky,
but today I'm too lazy to try to re-type it again.

Luna gets extra attention.  Sketche for the next phase of the Mooning Project.

fun stuff and the loving the way things move

I love finding these images (this is neptune) where the bright planet has been blacked out so that the smaller surrounding objects are seen more clearly.  It reminds me of the black stripe that came out during my 50 Split Images series.

It also reminds me of how tuning out loud abrasive things (within and without) is a good skill to foster :)

I have hit the half-way mark on the drwing labor for making this project happen, that means there are 78 of these wonderful precious (yep, I love em) moons all packaged up in the studio.  It took right at three weeks to get here - and my consciousness feels strong from the daily practice of looking and marking.  The rote nature of the work (3-7 moons a day) feels rhythmic, good, knowing what to work on each day makes it easy to find that deft touch.  Sigh, there is nothing like drawing to bring it back to center...very much looking forward to arranging them as a single piece and moving onto the memorization and story-telling aspect of the project.  I cycle through associating these moons with the folk, femme, mythic, and scientifically illuminated.

The head of Margaret Thatcher hurtling through space imitating a moon of Uranus.  This was the only non-graphed image I could find of Margaret the moon.
