Came to me through Jerry Saltz's FB page.

Aw man, they go on and on!  Such strange portals!  I'll be checking this tumblr.

Les Biches, Looking Glass
Les Biches, Looking Glass
Les Biches, Looking Glass
Photography as mediation of the indeterminate, interception of desire, absence, fragmentation.  Shot from Claude Charbrol's Les Biches, during the voyeur keyhole peeping scene.  Here, we also have fun with lo-fi imagery...and some negotiation of mystery (with uptalk)?  What is the crux of mystery's somehow-satisfying-but-not-enoughness?  Wanting moreness, unpacking WANT, un-packing desire.   When does desire pass from benign to malignant?  Would studying it help to find that border or only push it around painterly-like? Note the influence of Judith Eisler, who was a visiting artist during my 3rd year of undergrad.  Further than influence, I've lifted her process here and left out the "hard" part (the fun part!) the painting.  Ah, the thievery of photography. It's awful fun to go through Sontag and indulge in a little"soft murder".  Oh, also the femaleness--as in receptivity--of photography is an interesting thing.  So, its a soft power tool--the activated passive voice.  TWIST

Oh, and an article on Thomas Ruff's Pixel Series.
Enceladus, Saturn.  The raining moon.
My favorite pop-sci candy, IO9, on 10 moons everyone should know.  Several of the images are ones I worked from for my Moon.Scratch project, parts of which showed at Whitespace for their Neurology to Cosmology exhibit.
