Making teeth, working with flash

an octopus has three hearts

Ax grinding and the pulling of teeth.

3x3=9
I'm making these teeth as early prep for a show in the Fall.  I'd like to have about 1,000 of them at least.  Enough to fill about 150 or more square ft.  This is tough today cause I just keep getting angrier and angrier!  It's wasp circling anger, rage from a place that I should be able to put away.
Its the simple process of pouring the molds and pulling them, the repetitive cycle of the activity and the time for mindless thoughts.  30 min. for each pour to dry.  I should draw, or write, or do something...wait, I am!  Fucking guilty need to DO something better all the time.
Sometimes, I really love a repetitive activity.  The arising thought patterns can be so lovely and productive, enviably clear.  But, other times it's vague and upsetting mental walruses that bother me,
yeah, like today.

Subject shift,
my only remaining wisdom tooth is completely grown in.
It fits perfectly.

It's the first time I've worked with this material, very cheap crumbly calcium sulfate hemihydrate with crystalline silica.  Long name for quick pottery clay.  It is not archival, shame.  I'm pouring these 6 jaws at a time so there's 3 mouthfuls each pour.  The number three is all these things: omniscience, omnipresence, omnipotentence.  past, present, future.  me, myself, and I.  thought, word, and deed.  animal, vegetable, mineral.

But also Wiki Answers says this of the number three:

"3-Is the number of personal completeness,
It is the number of the Godhead,it stands for the triune God. It is formed by 1 plus 1 plus plus 1. But if the 1's are multplied, the result is still 1. So that God is 3in1 and 1 and 3. In geometry two lines do not make a cube. Hence 2 is an incomplete number while 3 is the first complete number. It therefore represents God. 3 is also a number of resurrection, The Lord Jesus is resurrected on the third day. Jonah was in the belly of the fish for 3 days. The restoration of the nation of Israel is also connected with the numeral 3.This number 3 is frequently related to God, the triune is used in the baptizism, The Lord Jesus was tempted 3 times, He prayed in the garden 3 times, he asked Peter 3 times if he loved him and to feed his sheep. When God judged mans sin in Chirst Jesus the
heavens and the earth were dark for 3 hrs."

Did you hear that?

to round that off I ran to mythology's counts of three,

and for some math to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3_(number)

All this thinking about anger.
The not wanting outrage to fade.
It's not working, still slowing,
am I too old for this?
Ek, my pulse is back,
the humanity!

Shooting this event with Nikita Gale and Thom Baker.  During the auction, pre-orders will be taken for a book of images from the evening.
It's difficult to describe the evening, but here's a preview:
Basically, there's the best of Atlanta's art, dance, and music moving through the urbane spaces of the largest W hotel in the world.  So take that and eat it up.

"Photographs are not hand-made, they are manufactured.  And what is manufactured is an image of the world.  The inescapable fact of mechanism or automatism in the making of these images is the [satisfying] feature....
At some point the unhinging of our consciousness from the world interposed our subjectivity between us and our presentness to the world.  Then our subjectivity became what is present to us, individuality became isolation....
Photography maintains the presentness of the world by accepting our absence from it.  The reality in a photograph is present to me while I am not present to it."

Controversial "spirit" photos taken by a questionable medium,  William Hope (1863-1933).  His work was found to be fraudulent by Harry Price, of the Society for Psychical Research, who hypothesized that he used glass plates to create the double exposures.
